About us
German Blaschke Umwelttechnik specialises in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-quality turnkey Exhaust Extraction Systems for railway maintenance depots.
The modern systems, that contribute to improve health and safety in the workplace, are designed to capture harmful diesel engine exhaust emissions directly from the exhausts of the rolling stock before they can enter the workshop.
Founded over 45 years ago, the family owned business has turned into one of the most important market leaders in its field. Numerous well-known national and international train companies and rail vehicle manufacturers rely on the special knowledge and great experience of Blaschke Umwelttechnik.
Today, more than 1,000 Exhaust Extraction Solutions are in active use around the world, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. They effectively protect the workforce from harmful diesel exhaust gases in their daily work.

Products & Services
The Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems offered by Blaschke Umwelttechnik are tailored to the individual needs of the customers taking account of the specific structural and technical conditions and economic requirements. Each individual solution builds on one of the various basic lines that have been developed over the past decades. They range from fixed exhaust extract hoods and stationary or moving swivel arms equipped with fixed or movable hoods to sophisticated mobile exhaust extract bridges.
A typical LEV system is composed of a unit to capture and collect the harmful exhaust gases, slotted suction rails and ducting to channel the exhaust emissions and a frequency-controlled extract fan. The fan ensures that the harmful exhaust emissions are extracted and discharged outside the workshop. The use of additional filters is possible. Programmable logic controllers and radio remote control systems allow for easy operation and reliability.A wall mounted, freestanding or on a working platform travelling swivel arm is a perfect solution where space is limited and where cranes are mounted. It is mainly composed of a rotary head and two slotted aluminum rails. An electrically driven trolley carrying a round or rectangular, height adjustable hood runs along the extract rails. Swivel arm lengths up to 12 meters and slewing ranges up to 320° are possible.

The significant feature of the BRB Swivel Arm is its runway structure consisting of two parallel slotted aluminum rails that are mounted vertically on the wall or columns of the building. Between the two rails travel one or more trolleys with an up to 6 m long swivel arm made of a galvanized steel duct. A motorized height adjustable hood is fixed at the end of the duct. The slewing range reaches nearly 180° degrees. As it covers the entire length of the track, it provides maximum flexibility.

With the RailPoint system, Blaschke Umwelttechnik provides a cost-effective overhead solution. It is suitable for workshops where only one trainset per track is accommodated and where hoods can be permanently installed on the roof structure. Up to 30 extract hoods per single track may be controlled manually or automatically either via HMI display or radio remote control.
